On the 1815 from PAD» to Newport - seems we have lost a power car. Have to say, its rather careless to lose one.
Train will be 25 late into Swansea - estimated at this point. However, what seems more likely is that I will miss my connection at Newport - due in at 20:08 with a connection at 20:26. We have not yet made Bristol parkway nor do I think we are even close.
This means the difference in my arrival at station from 2141 to 2226.
Will I be able to claim compensation for the PAD to Newport element? Or the whole journey to Worcester? Arriva probably wont be late but I will be 50 minutes late into Hereford and god knows what into WOS» ! Bearing in mind it is a hereford to pad via evesham ticket in the first place.
And what form is it in? Because once I get my season ticket again, chances of me needing travel vouchers are slim to non existant!

Currently your train is due into Newport at 20.22 so you might just might make your 20.26 connection. Would like to think they would hold it a couple of minutes bearing in mind there will be a few more passengers than usual travelling further afield hoping to make this connection in view of the Cotswold line closure.

LDB does not take into account one engine only, and is far too optimistic at the best of times. Its just passes through Severn Tunnel at 2014 so should be in Newport within 10 minutes.

I believe you can claim compensation if, and only if, you are 60 minutes or more late at your ultimate destination (so by my reckoning, if you were originally scheduled to arrive 2141 and didn't make it until 2226, you wouldn't qualify for any vouchers. Sorry.

It was. Closest damn connection I ever made!
I would have said wos but feared I'd be accused of taking the proverbial since 50 into Hereford then an lm connection to wos - would have been a damn sight more than 50 I suspect!
Had been advised bt tm that it would not have been held!
Now here's a thing - they knew at pad apparently it would be late - this was the set due to go to Penzance but they swapped it due to power car issue. I was there in time for the 1758 but declined to take it since that does mean 2225 at Ludlow in favour of the 1815 and it's 2141. HAD I missed this us have been more than miffed there was no announcement of the impending delay!

Are you suggesting a duff set should be used on the down Golden Hind? i.e. the flagship First Great Western service?

Flagship service? Only if you live in Devon or Cornwall...I suspect the majority of FGW▸ 's customers aren't too bothered

not at all - but how about warning potential passengers at pad that the 1815 will be running but will be running late by up to 25 minutes - seemingly the tm didn't know until after Reading - or he pretended to only know then by saying he'd just spoken to the driver
