William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

1. Always get on the "train" side of the tracks. 2. If not possible, always check the timetable for service trains, if anything is running late, try and make it "possible" 3. Never happened to me by doing this ................ YET !!

From your profile photo moon, I guess you'd've been happy with a pic of the 67 at the rear!

The flip-side for any 159 spotters who may have been out that morning at Brookwood. Here is a video of the SWT▸ 159 being partially obscured by the passing Tornado. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQMHbyx8pPA&feature=related

Railway photography has always involved a certain amount of serendipidy.
I have often heard people saying I was lucky with that shot, 5 minutes before it was bucketing down but it cleared and sun came out just in time or 5 minutes after the heavens opened. Or just before or after and it would have been obscured by another train as in this case.
What they don't tell you about is the hundreds of mediocre shots they've taken when the sun didn't come out or the rain didn't stop or another train did get in the way.

I saw this happen to a poor bloke stood in the rain at Worle. I felt sorry for him... I suppose I could have reassured him by saying it would have been a crap pic anyway because of the rain.

im sorry - I know this sounds harsh but........
why........
get a life!
At least my time on a train is productive in terms of finance! and my interst in fizzix
I kow unit numbers etc only when it benefits me - I know a 166 I can go to wither end, I know a 165 is shit, I know desiro is ok with CCTV▸ - etc etc etc
I know a 158 I use the whole table but on a 175 I dont!
But standing on platforms looking at heaps of metal? Why?
Please explain ............

Happened before when I was at St. Davids, loads of people on platform 5 ready to watch a steam special leave platform 4, just as it does, a XC▸ HST▸ comes trundling up 5, blocking the view... I shouldn't laugh, but I did.. lots
