From the Exeter Express and Echo: Dear Boris,
As you've had a couple of months to settle in as Mayor of London, I'm dropping you a line with some feedback about how the capital is doing on tourism under your leadership, after a short break with my two teenage daughters.
Travel: As we live in Exmouth, it was easy to hop on a First Great Western service at Exmouth then pick up the London-bound express at Exeter St David's.
The FGW▸ trains were on time, clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and we were whisked speedily to London Paddington on time in just under two and a half hours.
And getting around London on the bus and Tube was easy with three off-peak day travel passes totalling ^12.80.

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.
"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner." Discuss.

Considering that until recently, Exeter was a labour seat I doubt that.

To whom it may concern, yesterday I took the train from Westbury to Exeter St Davids, then on to Paignton to spend the day at their excellent zoo. All four trains were clean and ran to time. I must congratulate FGW▸ for running such an excellent railway. I would like to state now that I am not, nor ever have been an employee of First Group or any of its associated companies. Likewise I certify that I am not an employee of the aforementioned registered charity, Paignton Zoo. During the day I also ate a most agreeable Morrison's pork pie, I would like to state .....................................

Did you go on the train at the zoo Bet the zoo was dead quiet yesterday, even with about 7 coach loads of children booked in.

To be fair on the Mail (which I never usually defend), that excellent "news"paper -The Metro - also covered the Jet story with as little exaggeration.
