Hello ... I took my first train trip today. Less that half an hour, and great fun. I couldn't help noticing that there seems to be a river, with a weir, near every station. Is this a requirement these days? Here's the first one ... and here is the one that's near to the station at the end of the journey ... When we came back, we went for a walk near another station too and of course there was a weir there: Can anyone name the three stations we visited?

I'm fairly sure the first one is Avoncliff - the ruined, but now apparently being restored, mill opposite the gardens of the Cross Guns ph, under the aquaduct?

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

You're absolutely correct, Chris ... I actually just came on to post further clues at the stations, as no-one had even tried. Here's the Avoncliff clue And here are the clues for the other 2 places

The 3rd one is Bradford On Avon. I believe the photo was taken on the Level Crossing.

The Third was indeed taken as we walked briskly over the level crossing at BOA ... well done, both.

Yep ... it is. How did you get that from Cornwall?

Posting the Kensham photo in the other thread kind of gave it away.

Indeed ... but it's surprising how few add 2 and 2!

Beat me to it with Keynsham! You chose a couple of stations next to some very respectable pubs, with the Cross Guns at Avoncliff and the Lock Keeper/Brass Mill at Keynsham. Was that an accident ?
