Just curious as to whether anybody has a definitive list of what can be consumed from the buffet for free? The FGW▸ website is somewhat lacking in that department and upon previously asking I have often been given a blank expression and no answer to my question.
Thanks!

Hope that helps Devon_Metro

As long as it's a HST▸ with a Buffet, you can go anytime...! Even Weekends Except fruit isn't available then Only problem is if it's one of those sets running around without a Buffet...! After 19:00 i'm not sure whats available... I've never waited in the queue long enough to find out...!

Unfortunately rather a lot of customer hosts when asked just say "tea and biscuits" but there's actually quite a respectable range of freebies on offer (as I discovered when I asked one very friendly customer host on a quiet train for a selection of complimentaries to go with my tea and she gave me a bag filled with a range of all the above!) The cashew/almond mix is particularly nice.

Interesting, I've always been told just drinks and biscuits previously at the buffet.

I know this is going to get me shot...! But sometimes the CH's may say this because it's the easiest things to get to...! When I travel on XC▸ and head for the shop, I am told "Just Drinks" Yet they always manage to find some Shortbread or Crisps if you ask them nicely...!

When I travelled on XC▸ First Class with no host, I went to the buffet, and after I had asked whether I could help myself ("Ah-no" she said!), she just loaded a bag with a tea, sandwich, bottle of mineral water and biscuits).
I preferred it with a host, as I had 2 fizzy drinks, 2 teas, spring rolls and biscuits throughout my journey! (much to my annoyance, I could have had crisps, but I had already has biscuits by then)

Last time I was on with XC▸ , the RSM simply showed me the draw and said "help yourself" So it was a hot chocolate, coke, mince pie and Burt's Crisps
