Hi,

Had a look round (google and here), but couldn't really find the answer, nor on the First Great Western website, so hoped someone here might know.

We have got out ^10 weekend letter, where you can go anywhere on First Great Western for ^10 weekends, and take a friend for another ^10. It says travel anywhere on the First Great Western network.

Great, we thought, trip from Paignton to Bristol, but the only trains (to get there easy) are Crosscountry trains, not First Great Western, we would have to make at least 2 changes, if not 2, and the journey changes from 2 horus to nearly 4, with long stops (or just missing a connection as they are almost the same time), so is it only for First Great Western Trains, or is it Crosscountry as well, as long as you say on the First Great Western network of stations?

Cheers for anyone who might know.

It's only for FGW (First Great Western) services unfortunately.

On Saturday:

0717 Paignton - Bristol 0927 (until May 15th) After that on Saturdays there is a 0930 Paignton - Bristol arriving at 1145
1815 Bristol - Paignton 2020 (ish)

I enjoyed a day out in London last year thanks to this. Leaving Newton Abbot at 0730 and arriving back at 2200. Very cheap indeed.

Where did you find that?

I have looked in the timetable, and looked online (using south west trains), and it doesn't even list that train leaving paignton, yet alone getting to Bristol on FGW (First Great Western)?

Cheers

He hasn't taken into account that the line between Taunton and Bristol is shut for the next couple of Saturdays, so part of the journey is on a bus...

By the way, sodafountain - welcome to the Coffee Shop forum!  Embarrassed Wink Cheesy
