Hello all,

I'm moving out of East London back to the West and am currently looking at renting houses on the London - Kennet Valley line specifically around Kintbury/Hungerford and Thatcham areas.

I'm used to busy trains given I use the Tube every day right now but just wondered what peoples experience was of the 6.17 am from Kintbury passing through Thatcham at 0630 and arriving in theory at Paddington at 0723

I'm also considering the Twyford area but assume that any train after Reading towards London will be packed out ?

Many thanks and see you on the train soon   Smiley

Regards
Anthony

Hello, Anthony W, and welcome to the Coffee Shop forum!  Cheesy

As I often say, when I'm faced with a question about a particular line on which I never travel: I don't know the answer, but I bet there are other members here who will be able to help!  Wink

Edit note:

... and I see that several of our members have indeed offered a variety of experiences, on your other topic, at http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=4549.msg39587#msg39587  Wink

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Hello all ... we've now moved to Thatcham and the 0630 to Paddington this morning was a very pleasant experience - I hope it's like that every day ! Not sure what the return journey will be like - I suspect a bit busier !

Thanks for your comments on this and on the other post I made about travelling in from Twyford.

Cheers
Anthony
