Too bad they can't redouble the line while they're at it. (tongue firmly in cheek)

At times like this, I regret the closure of Truro yard and the loss of the 4th platform at the station. Were they still operating, trains could at least continue to serve the county city (+ the Falmouth branch) when the western end of the county was shut down for work.

The blockade during weekdays is between Longrock and Penzance (trains terminating St Erth) but on the weekends the blockade is St Austell - Penzance, why? I don't know

There must (?) be a good reason for closing the main line that far up but rather than having St. Austell as the starting point, if possible, it'd surely be better to start all trains from Par and run a Falmouth-Penryn-Truro-St Austell-Par & return connecting shuttle.

St Erth & St Austell ( AFAIK▸ ) can't fill toilet tanks, Par has a nice new water tower.

Trains can be tanked at Newquay!
Most of the young holidaymakers are too Sadly, this is true. On several occasions, I have journeyed to that den of iniquity on a Saturday evening in an attempt to spread the word. Does anyone know whether I would be allowed to hold an impromptu service on the train from Par to Newquay? We could have rousing modern hymns and uplifting prayers and possibly give away small bottles of soft drink and useful tracts to club goers. David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brothers to sing joyful songs, accompanied by musical instruments: lyres, harps and cymbals. 1 Chronicles 15:16
