From the FGW▸ site: Train services have been disrupted due to emergency services dealing with a prior incident between Exeter St Davids and Taunton. Short notice alterations and delays of up to 60 minutes may still occur. Last Updated: 08/02/2009 10:37

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.
"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner." Discuss.

Chris knows things ... However, on this particular occasion, it was actually described as 'a lineside fire' by FGW▸ in a 'live update' on the termination of the 09:35 Exeter St Davids to Bristol Temple Meads, at Tiverton Parkway. As that service would have been due to arrive at BTM▸ at 11:20 this morning anyway, I didn't bother to also quote that update, when I started this topic at 12:13! Elementary, my dear Watson!

Fair enough, although I had heard something different regarding the situation. Same emergency services though

Well, to be fair, Liam, if FGW▸ use the description, 'a lineside fire' in just one of their updates, that covers a multitude of possibilities! I just 'quoted' what they told me!

Gas Escape.... Liquid gas spilled onto the old Wellington platform I believe.
Line closed 0945, reopened 1026, only 3 or 4 services were affected.
