Made an awful mistake - went to Youtube looking for Valenta engine sounds and spent the whole evening  looking at train videos - it's just toooooo addictive.
One I found was a bit useful for us passengers as it explains a bit about what goes on in the cab and at signal boxes.

Very interesting.  However...One S Sixteen...No way!... always One S One Six.   (Or Two U Nine Nine etc etc). Too much margin for lack of clarity otherwise.

Sorry if it's caused any confusion, Btline, but this topic does seem to have ranged fairly widely from correct use of the phonetic alphabet to Morse code* - and TerminalJunkie's previous post was just a little 'cheeky', possibly?  Grin
