Even prior to 6 a.m., there was a whole series of short workings this morning ... I make this 6 separate train sets.  The effect of December timetable and stock changes?

Exeter is short of 5 142s this week, and other unit availability isnt great either!

And Cornwall has been short of stock today - only one carriage on the Falmouth branch, supplemented by buses,  and 3 rather than 4 carriages running west from Plymouth at tea time.   This even with the Newquay branch closed for engineering this week

Assorted HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) faults in the Thames Valley today, with the early Moreton-London cancelled and another failed HST parked in the sidings at Oxford as the Turbo stand-in left on the 17.5a London to Worcester.

Falmouth shortformation was down to the Looe unit failing on the main line early in the morning, they split the 2 153's on the falmouth to send one to Looe.

The words 'sardines' and 'cattle' spring to mind.  As you know, its a very heavily used service..
