Improvements to Torbay Cross Country services from December:
There are a number of new services being provided by Cross Country to Torbay from December timetable change: 0659 Paignton - Manchester (arr Bristol Temple Meads 0855) [new service] 1004 Paignton - Manchester (arr Bristol Temple Meads 1153) 1401 Paignton - Manchester (arr Bristol Temple Meads 1557) 2008 Paignton - Birmingham NS (arr Bristol Temple Meads 2149)
The 1714 from Bristol Temple Meads will now also go to Paignton instead of Paignton, allowing a days work in Bristol.

Nice to see a direct service to Birmingham later than 1923 from EXD» .

Nice to see a direct service to Birmingham later than 1923 from EXD» . Recognising Exeter's growing importance in the business world and reflecting its 'attractive' location.

There used to be a later service from Plymouth to Birmingham, leaving Exeter at about 20:40. It was very lightly loaded though as it had the exact same stopping pattern as far as Bristol as the last FGW▸ service to London that ran 10 minutes ahead of it.

This seems to be the case as the last London leaves Exeter at 20:40 and the last XC▸ will be 20:46. It would make more sense to time the XC a bit earlier, as there is nothing to Bristol direct between 19:23 and 20:40.

It doesn't seem to be timed very well. It has an hour layover at Paignton!

The 10:04 runs about 10 minutes ahead of a FGW▸ service with the same stopping pattern from Newton Abbot to Bristol. The 14:01 runs about 15 minutes ahead of a FGW service with the same stopping pattern from Paignton to Taunton.
