Fatality In The Ealing Area (12/10/2008)

From the FGW^▸ website :

Train services between London Paddington and Reading are being disrupted due to a fatality in the West Ealing area.Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 45 minutes can be expected. First Great Western tickets are being accepted on the following routes : CrossCountry services between Reading and Oxford, SouthWest Trains between London Waterloo and Reading/Windsor, London Buses amd London Underground on all reasonable routes.

Train services between London Paddington and Reading are being disrupted due to a person hit by a train in the Ealing Broadway area.Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 45 minutes can be expected.

Update from the FGW^▸ website :

Train services between London Paddington and Reading are now running normally in the West Ealing area.

With these tragic incidents happening all over the rail network, I'm amazed at stories such as this:

William Huskisson MP^▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

Apparently, the pieces that were rejected also included a couple copulating. Nice.

Unfortunately this was a trainee Driver involved with this incident.

It always saddens me to hear about these things, there had been some progress made on this by introducing security guards at Southall station, however this just seems to have driven it to other locations.

My thoughts are with the driver and instructor and I sincerely hope they are both able to recover from this and continue in there chosen career.
