OK - it's NOT FGW▸ (First Great Western) served, and I don't think that anyone's going to have a cat in h**l chance of placing this without some clues .... but I'm giving it a go for a day or so.   Then the clues will start.

Curiously, "Melksham" is one of the very few British place names that does NOT seem to have been reused overseas.   I am told that this is because:

a) People who live in Melksham are very happy there and don't WANT to set up colonies

b) The train service is so cr*p that they can't actually get out of the town even if they want to

It could also be - let's face it - because:

c) The folks from Melksham haven't exactly been "get up and go / act" types - something the DfT» (Department for Transport - about) rather relied on when they slashed the TransWilts service

d) It's a peculiar name!

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.
