INVESTMENT in the Ebbw Vale railway scheme was skimped after the number of people using the trains was ^woefully underestimated^, [Welsh Assembly Member] Trish Law has claimed...With 44,000 passengers a month, the trains have not only doubled the forecast of 22,000, but have even smashed the 2012 target of 33,000 passengers.

Excellent news on the passenger numbers and another case of spending large amounts of money on surveys/forecasting really proving to be a very inaccurate science indeed. I suggest all campaigners use this story as an example when being told that there is not enough money to provide new services for their chosen route.
