Thanks for that, Liam.  Wink

My only comment is that the reason for Jim's ban on posting here himself has been made clear to Jim, and to you.

As I said: thanks for the post, anyway.

Nice use of the future progressive tense in that sentence; it will definitely be getting my seal of approval...  Tongue

Curious isn't it? Another example of comment on the Coffee Shop, and something happens. We've come a long way in a year.

That's what I first thought when I read the internal release this afternoon  Grin

At the recent Meet the Manager session at Temple Meads I actually complimented the SM on how things have improved recently, and how Andrew Haines was making a difference. Then I told him how everyone at Nailsea was pleased to have the station staffed again but we were all hoping that he could actually do something useful like, er, sell tickets? I'll be interested to see whether anything happens about that.

Seconded by me, John!

The excellent chap on duty at Nailsea & Backwell in the morning is certainly 'customer centric' - but when the ticket machine's working, he doesn't need to sell tickets, and when it isn't, he can't??

Bizarre?   Roll Eyes

So it can be done! Pity it wasn't thought of before last Friday...

Just hope the 180s are all on their best behaviour come Friday afternoon.

I'm not sure you'd think the same if you saw the queues still waiting for the machine as the 0744 and 0811 pull in. (Often still up to 10 people waiting.) There's certainly the need for someone to sell tickets at those times.

Fair comment, John - but there's also the machine down on the footpath up to platform 1?  I've used that more than once, as a way of avoiding the queue up on platform 2?

Not really suitable for a last minute job though, as you have to; run up two flights of stairs, along the platform, up the footbridge, across, and down again, once you've bought your ticket. So I can understand why most passengers don't fancy that.

As I said: thanks for the post, anyway.

Having a reason and actually the reason making sense are two very different things. (edit: and I'm reliably informed the reason is based on supposedly 'proven' allegations - but that's another matter)

Second edit: Would a moderator or administrator like to confirm that the reason for the banning is directly to do with the forum in the sense that it is a post or profile rule violation?
