From First Great Western JourneyCheck:

Line problem: between Great Malvern and Hereford.
Owing to a problem with line-side equipment between Great Malvern and Hereford all lines are blocked. Train services through these stations may be subject to disruption on all routes at short notice. An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

Those pesky badgers are back again - but someone has persuaded them to have a go at road bridges instead : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-shropshire-23340869.

Perhaps they should tell the Badger Broadcasting Corporation that Hoarwithy is in Herefordshire.

So much for the cull, then. Although driving along the A361 North Devon Link Road on Saturday, you could be forgiven for thinking it was well under way.

Apologies if this has been posted on this forum before, but this youtube video is what I call a washout.

Warning - there is some rather colourful language; to my mind however it is entirely appropriate!

Hi any one know what work was taking place on the Worcester to Malvern line today,Worcester Foregate street station was shut no trains running on that line. I read that Cheltenham is to get new platforms and Stratford on Avon opens its new park and ride station, what does Worcester get? a new toilet door lock!! Come on First Great Western/London Midland/Network Rail take hold of the Worcester rail set up and bring it in to the modern world.  From a grumpy old rail fan!!

From The BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page)

Quote
A train guard required hospital treatment after being attacked with a screwdriver at a railway station.

The guard needed stitches to a forehead wound after a man attacked him with the screwdriver and then threw it at his face.

British Transport Police is appealing for witnesses after the assault at Colwall Station in Herefordshire at about 22:00 GMT on 21 March.

The attacker had previously shouted at the guard from the platform, it added.

He was described as a white male in his late 20s and at the time of the attack was said to have been wearing a tracksuit and baseball cap, British Transport Police said.

It appealed for anyone with information to contact the force.
