Almost beyond belief.....again.

Cancellations to services between Reading and Slough

Due to a points failure between Reading and Slough some lines towards London Paddington are blocked.
Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled, delayed or revised. Twyford, Maidenhead and Slough will not be served. Disruption is expected until 15:00 20/03.

Customer Advice
Apologies to customers, Network Rail advise we have multiple points failures between Reading and Slough in at least 3 different locations. In addition the high speed line from Reading towards London is currently shut.

And the advice from GWR (Great Western Railway) is to use the Elizabeth Line.....which is suspended between Hayes & Reading  Roll Eyes

Whilst it's never great to see the map covered in red lines, at least this weekend (as well as the inevitable staff shortage related cancellations), much of the disruption is due to engineering works, which I am told (amongst other activity) involves installing new rails between Reading and Paddington - hopefully this might help to relieve the virtually daily disruption and meltdowns which have been a feature of this route over the past couple of months?
