Some old (National Rail) timetables of mine - from perhaps 2 to 6 years old - fell into my virtual shredder.  Can you help me put them back together again? Can you identify the lines they apply to?  Any clues as to whether they were before or after any changes made on that line?

5: Looks like Marlow via Bourne End to Maidenhead with two sets in the morning peak, and then just one thereafter.

Yes ... though it has changed a bit since then.

Indeed - always struck me as an odd way to run a railway.  I'm guessing space is so tight (or someone is so cheap / was expecting Marlow to close too) that they came up with that track layout

Agreed and understood - I just wonder if an extra point 2 carriage lengths from the stops of platform 2, crossing the line from Maidenhead into platform 1 and joining the Marlow line might work.   Through carriages, train passing still works though limited to 2 carriages.  Would 2 carriages be enough and not overcrowd into Maidenhead?

Ah ... I suspect I'm more of a timetable geek than most members - that was either a boring/uninteresting or hard quiz, notable by the lack of follow ups.

Here's the full set of answers ...

0. Saltburn to Bishop Aulkand / Middlesbrough to Newcastle
1. Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin
2. Brighton / West Coast Seaway via Worthing
3. Brighton to Dilton Marsh - brooklea
4. Aylesbury Vale Parkway to London Marylebone
5. Marlow to Maidenhead - Oxenhutch
6. Bristol Temple Meads to Savern Beach - Kempis
7. Cardiff to Penarth, Barry Island, and Bridgend
8. London (Liverpool Street) to Southminster and Southend

For today, Monday 16th, I am taking a 1 day break from quiz setting.  It has been a busy weekend and continues updating timetable links in local group websites - I have just emailed (at her request) a status update on 'things Melksham' to another local contact of issues ... only one out of the six being rail reliability and "kicking arse" if necessary, and if I can, is more important long term than a day's missed quiz!
