This is the garden / that joins the waiting area at the Bath Coach Station that's used by tours to the City.  Weary visitors, retruning early to the coach station, can sit in pleasant surroundings while waiting for their return transport.

OK - so this is a bus example .... but does anyone have a favourite waiting spot like this that they use when waiting for a train?

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

Wow, wish we had a caff like that at Taplow, but you are welcome to come and admire our flower beds.

There is no doubt about it that other amenities on a station do liven the place up and making waiting more pleasant.

I've always wanted to visit the CAMRA rated Stalybridge Station Buffet. Not FGW (First Great Western) but!

The caff on the island platform at Ely used to be pretty good haven't been for 15 years.

I have to be fair and say that Shirleys Cafe is a couple of doors down from Severn Beach station, rather than being on the station itself.

Still very handy though, with a nice garden for the summer.

I've been in that cafe myself, very friendly place, perfect for a hot choc on a cold day waiting for the next train  Grin  Grin

As for the original question...I like waiting at Warminster towards the end of p1 on a nice day, don't really know why but it's quiet and there's nice views of the town over that bridge Smiley
