How long do you think it will be before the Cotswold Line Promotion Group updates it's website with this news? The biggest announcement about the line in years, and not even an acknowledgment of it yet.

Well, they have yet to reply to my email about the petition which I sent zonks ago, so don't hold your breath! Grin

Vast streams of the site is out od date:

While I agree it is odd there is no mention yet, maybe they are just being cautious. Officially, the whole thing won't actually be signed off by the ORR» (Office of Rail and Road formerly Office of Rail Regulation - about) until October, so there is still a tiny element of doubt there.

Re the petition, it was mentioned and linked to from a news item on the site for several months.

And without the CLPG» (Cotswold Line Promotion Group - about)'s efforts in the early 1980s, we might not have had a railway at all...

Well if FGW (First Great Western) issued a press release, then I would say it's fairly official.
