I didn't think it would take long! The abandoned loop at the Barmouth Ferry end  Trains crossing at the aptly named 'Loop Halt'  .... and, anything Finn can do, so can our little Westie. 'Jessie'   |

I know that 'beauty is in the eyes of the beholder' and not everyone will appreciate it, but I love this 'snapshot' of the bridge taken on a 'phone from a moving car by my daughter on the spur of the moment as we approached Barmouth in the early evening. I hadn't spotted the 'coxed 4' in the foreground until I saw the enlarged version on my laptop.  |

I suspect you're right. Here's a stock photo from down the coast at Aberaeron. Sea and estuary rowing using a variety of types of boats is a thing, including for recreational use thankfully. It's very sociable, especially when its not a requirement for survival, e.g. the need for Shetlanders to row sixty or so miles into the teeth of the weather in pursuit of the herring, in a heavy oar-propelled boat I think known as a sixareen. And then of course the competitions, which possibly generate various versions of the joke: 'What's the difference between an egg and a cornish gig?'...
