Slightly obtuse, but for as long a period as they sell tickets for in advance.

That *should* be at least 12 weeks, but engineering works can get in the way & until amended timetables are available, seats (I assume you mean seats, as you can't reserve trains or tickets) aren't available to be reserved.

Some, LNER» (London North Eastern Railway - about) for example, sell weekday tickets for up to 6 months (the timetable change dates) in one go, but they don't have to. Virgin West Coast were the same, but Avanti stick to the 12 weeks I believe.

Thank you for the info, but things can change so quickly.

I was looking at all that thousands that may be going to Cardiff for the Oasis concerts on American independence day as well as the 5th July 2025

The capacity is actually 75,000,that's a lot of persons.

Not so bad drifting over to Cardiff in dribs and drabs on the days of the concerts, its the coming back that could be the problem.

Having said that there seems to have been a bit of spat between the brothers in the last couple of days,so I just hope all the concerts go ahead.

Looking at GWR (Great Western Railway) site, at the time of this posting you can reserve up to the 14 December 2024

The timetable for July 2025 has not yet been finalised, so you would not be able to book seats anyway.

GWR (Great Western Railway) has generally laid on additional services to get pax away from big events at the Principality, so provided you would be headed in the London direction, you should be OK.

IIRC (if I recall/remember/read correctly) (and this could be out of date) they don't offer reservations after big events at CDF» (Cardiff - next trains) as it's a case of putting everyone in queues and making the most of available capacity.

Indeed - there is no reason to think that the crowds for the Oasis gigs would be any different transport-wise than the sell-outs that Ms Swift had. And there were no reported problems for those dates
