Heading up to London for the weekend this morning so that will probably mean another journey subsided by Delay Repay! Oh, and no we’re not returning Sunday. Travelling by train on a Sunday is an absolute no no, as is using the trains over the Christmas holidays.

Surprise surprise. Returning from London later today, so now await to see if this affects our train. And to think we’ve got years of HS2 (The next High Speed line(s)) work at Old Oak Common to come, something that brings absolutely no benefit to the Western Region whatsoever. Unless you consider stopping every train to stop at Old Oak Common a benefit.

Journey check was reporting that some of the Didcot stoppers had been cancelled between Didcot and Reading due to a track inspection.

Looks like the mains are closed in both directions between Reading and Didcot. Traksy is currently showing 7 down services queueing from Morton Cutting.

Not a good start to the Christmas getaway.

Due to a planning error for the possession/isolation at Acton West, we cannot run our stopping services past Reading. Our high speed services to/from London Euston can run but these are NOT booked to call at Reading.
