Cancellations to services between London Paddington and Reading
Due to damage to the overhead electric wires at Ealing Broadway fewer trains are able to run on some lines. Disruption is expected until 18:00 26/03.
Train services between London Paddington and Reading may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
Disruption now pushed out to 1900......another miserable evening peak for customers on this most wretched of lines

.......and for today.....
Cancellations to services between London Paddington and Reading Due to a safety inspection of the track between London Paddington and Reading some lines are blocked. Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled, delayed or terminated at and started back from Reading. Disruption is expected until 11:30 27/03. Customer Advice - Network Rail advise of reports a large dip in the track in the Ladbroke Grove area just outside of London Paddington on one of the lines running towards Slough. - In response there will be a pre-agreed contingency plan activated to assist in the management of the train service giving consideration to the reduction in line availability. - As soon as we have confirmation on what the impact will be on the train service we shall advise accordingly. - MTR Elizabeth Line are accepting GWR▸ customers between Reading and London Paddington in both directions until further notice.

Grimness now reported on the Elizabeth line owing to overhead electrifications issues at West Ealing... a relative's just needed to leave the train at Paddington and head for the Piccadilly line for onward travel to Heathrow.

Genuinely couldn't make it up.....they thought there was a OHL▸ fault, switched it off....there wasn't a fault......but they can't switch it back on again properly..... Now "until the end of the day".......apologies for the language, but it's total shower of s**t, for the third night in a row.

Agreed. A total shower of s**t. I’m on a dangerously overcrowded Elizabeth line service that reminds me of the worst days of FGW▸ . Paddington station platforms are overflowing and 20mins between services that can only pick up a handful of the passengers waiting. A total joke, and dangerous for all involved.

….. All part of the plan to totally decarbonise the railway. On a more serious note. No need to apologise for the language. It is as you describe.

Today was a rare occasion that I travelled to Paddington then realised the chaos - so promptly travelled back to Bond Street on the Elizabeth Line to ride the train back. Thus ensuring I would be able to continue onward to Maidenhead on a train. It does feel good to ride a nearly empty train one stop back when services get that full!

I had an idea that might happen so went the long way around - Bond Street to Waterloo, Waterloo to Windsor Riverside, Windsor Central to Slough, Slough to Taplow - roughly 2 hrs 30 but a safer and a somewhat less stressful experience............and I got home to find that due to my late arrival I'd missed a visit from my Mother in law, so I guess there's always an upside! Another dreadful day on the Thames Valley routes though and especially for the Elizabeth Line - wonder if Mayor Khan will be having another word with NR» ?

It seems ‘words’ are the only thing any organisation involved can muster up.

This may become a more regular event over the next few months as the Wales and Western Region tackle the defects that have caused the problems recently in the Thames Valley.
