It's been 24 hours since my previous attempt so I'll have a stab at number 4 which I think is Torquay.


Edit: I've just noticed that Merthyr Imp has already suggested the same yesterday.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

I had discounted Newhaven as a possibility because the railway line closed in 1956:

I looked at Newhaven on Google street view but the nearby flats have black window frames. The flats in Graham's picture must be the more distant ones still under construction in the 2023 dated Google street view.
