Presumably on one of the very large Isle of Wight ferries from Southampton to Cowes, judging by the height the photo was taken at.

When I went on the Hythe train last year, I thought its the first time I've been pulled by a lawn mower....

I'd definitely recommend a trip on the Hythe Ferry. The journey across Southampton Water is fascinating (those huge cruise ships really don't look as though they should be able to stay upright!) and Hythe itself warrants a visit.

Don't know if you know the history of that "lawn mower"...................it was built for use in a mustard gas factory in Avonmouth during WW1.  Shocked

Is it still an electric lawn mower? I couldn't tell at the distance we were away .

The Hythe Pier and Volks Electric Railway are two fascinating historic lines ...
