FGW (First Great Western) is now in second last place in performance.

http://www.networkrail.co.uk/aspx/742.aspx

NXEC (National Express East Coast) are the worst.

This is excellent news. It shows that FGW are on the move up the table and won't be stripped of its franchise.

But... think how the Cotswold Line redoubling would help FGW. Less delays through Reading caused by single track, less delays throughout the region.

If you want to help FGW move up the table, sign the petition now. Grin

NXEC (National Express East Coast) have actually been worst for at least 6 months on and off!

What were GNER (Great North Eastern Railways) like?

Nowhere near as bad as NXEC (National Express East Coast) are managing, I think they generally managed to be roughly half way up the table.

I'm very surprised c2c aren't at the top. Their network is self contained and virtually no trains share their metals. Likewise with Island Line, but they're counted with SWT (South West Trains) now...

Oh and it's Gatwick Express at the top!

Not very surprising for Virgin. The period wasn't really brilliant for them and won't be until the WCRM works are finished.

I always thought that Virgin West coast were always one of the best at performance, from what I read on the net.  Not the best, but one of the better ones.

How is it that their punctuation drops because of the west coast mainline works?  Surely not rheir fault?

Nice to see ATW (Arriva Trains Wales (former TOC (Train Operating Company))) high up the list though!

Their punctuality drops as a result of the WCRM works due to the fact that the infrastructure is not up to the job, so more trains are late - so punctuality drops.

Excuse me for acting thick  Grin Grin but please explain how a train running late off the single line at Swindon causes noticable delays at Reading. I haven't had many considerable delays over the Kemble branch for ages and there is enough slack in the timetable between Swindon and Reading for even the windyest of drivers to make up the small amount of time lost recently Roll Eyes. However that said there is a case for the upgrade to double track required along with more signals to enable more trains both freight and passenger to run!

A train on the Cotswold Line (which is Oxford to Worcester!) OR THE GOLDEN VALLEY LINE (Swindon to Cheltenham) arrives at Reading 5 mins late.

It causes many other trains to be late!

The slack has made the problem worse - there is now more slack in the service operation.

Please sign the petition to prevent this.

it doesnt cause other trains to be late at Reading though! It causes other trains to be late at other locations where the lines meet like Didcot and Swindon.
