That link is a local file path, which means it points to a file on a specific computer. In this case, the file is on a computer named JOHN and it's located in the Downloads folder under the user profile C:\Users\JOHN\Downloads\Fjord Engineering Conference Invitation 2024.pdf.

Without access to that specific computer, you won't be able to open the file.

Sorry every one, can't seem to upload the info about the event so here it is in written form

I have had an invitation to attend to attend a light rail and tram conference at Brightons football ground on Saturday 18 May.

There are no contact details for the event.

If any one can find out any more information about the event can you please post the info, thanks.

Also sorry for still not knowing everything about computers, unlike many others on this forum.

It seems to me a strange place to hold something like that, suggesting that everyone will have quite a trip to get there, rather than somewhere closer to the Midlands, making the travel generally easier/shorter

I've also received an invite. It is apparently organised by a firm called Fjord Engineering, but apart from that i know nothing more about its details .

Fjord Engineering have proposed a tramway for Eastbourne and Linkedin tells me their MD is Brighton based

Quote
The Sunshine Tramway is the Fjord Engineering proposal for environmentally friendly transport to Eastbourne. It will:
* Provide a Mass Rapid Transport System residents of and visitors to the town.
* Increase the potential for short journeys within the town and environs
* Reduce the number of motor vehicles on the road.
* Increase employment opportunities.
* Provide safe and affordable transportation for our elderly residents.
* Reduce the volume of “school-runs” for our younger residents.
* Significantly reduce our carbon footprint.

"applrguk" is the All Party Parlimentary Group - https://applrguk.co.uk/media/files/ leads to some interesting content!

And, with a few years of time travel involved, the 'Sussex Scot' to bring people down from the Midlands.
