0952 from Paddington left 25 minutes late as a result of waiting for an incoming driver. I wouldn't mind, but I'd just paid an extra £19 to excess my ticket up to allow a pre-10am departure (I'd originally bought it with a Network Card)...

Even running late after 1000, you still can't have used that ticket without the upgrade. It's booked time that stiplates the railcard usage

Yes, I know - though it would probably have worked the Paddington barriers after 10am and Cotswold guards are a tolerant lot...

https://www.network-railcard.co.uk/help/railcard-terms-conditions/4.2. Network Railcard discounts apply for travel at or after 10.00 Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays) and any time on weekends. Discounts apply to services in the Network Railcard area only (see network-railcard.co.uk/map). Travel was after 10.00... I can't see anything in the Network Railcard terms that relates to booked times.

Thursday March 14:
RTT» reports 1P11, 05:14 Shrub Hill - Paddington, "cancelled due to an issue with the train crew (TG)".
With the following 0523 Hereford to London Paddington and 0643 Worcester Shrub Hill to London Paddington both five car short-formations (though the 0643 has been five cars for the last three days so maybe planned due to Cheltenham?). And for the record, from yesterday morning: As previously reported the 0523 Hereford to London Paddington was cancelled between Worcester Shrub Hill and London Paddington due to a problem with the traction equipment (MD). As a result, the 0643 Worcester Shrub Hill to London Paddington was 52 minutes late by the time it hit Oxford and 56 late into Paddington; the 0700 Worcester Shrub Hill to Didcot Parkway was terminated at Oxford arriving 42 minutes late; and the 0713 Great Malvern to London Paddington was 34 minutes late at Oxford and 36 late to Paddington.

Well, here's the score so far:
1W29 14:53 Paddington - Foregate St. Waited for 9 at Reading, lost 51 (fifty-one) minutes between Cholsey (+09) and Didcot North (+60). Arrived Shrub Hill +61 and gave up. 1W30 15:23 Paddington - Foregate St. Cancelled throughout "due to a problem with the traction equipment (MC)". 1W31 15:52 Paddington - Great Malvern : arrived Oxford 11 late and cancelled thereafter "due to a problem with the traction equipment (MC)". 2E14 17:04 Didcot - Moreton : "cancelled between Oxford and Moreton-in-Marsh due to a problem with the traction equipment (MC)". 1W33 16:58 Paddington - Great Malvern : started from Reading (+14) "due to a problem with the traction equipment (MC)". Arrived Shrub Hill +32, left +47. Arrived Foregate St 46 late and gave up. 1W03 Paddington - Hereford : held at Wolvercote. Took 12 minutes for the half-mile from Worcestershire Parkway to Norton Junction. Arrived Shrub Hill 33 late and gave up. 1W34 Paddington - Foregate St. : Left Paddington 15 late. Oxford +20. Held at Evesham. Arrived Foregate St 45 late.
1P38 16:32 Great Malvern - Paddington : held at Charlbury for 25 minutes. Arrived Paddington 17 late. 1P39 17:26 Foregate St - Paddington : Started from Shrub Hill 36 late. Arrived Paddington 32 late. 1P40 18:02 Foregate St - Paddington : cancelled throughout. 2E16 18:51 Evesham - Oxford : cancelled throughout. 1P42 20:32 Great Malvern - Paddington : started from Oxford. 1P44 19:45 Great Malvern - Paddington : started from Foregate Street.
That four successive trains (five if you include the clearly defective 1W29) should suffer "a problem with the traction equipment (MC)" must be a new record.
