Worth clicking on the link - there's a photo of a white van on the railway bridge at Worcester.

Worth clicking on the link - there's a photo of a white van on the railway bridge at Worcester. This excellent cab ride video (1:57:49) shows why WVM's eastward progress came to an abrupt halt at the river bridge's steel spans. Mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMADOeBumAU

Just recording that yesterday, 5th March 2024, went by with no cancellations of trains through Evesham. Just how it should always be.
Not a massive amount of late running, either

A lot of disruption in the morning peak due to: Cancellations to services between London Paddington and Hereford via Oxford
Following a safety inspection of the track at Evesham all lines have now reopened. Disruption is expected until 12:00 08/03.
Train services between London Paddington and Hereford via Oxford and Worcester Shrub Hill are returning to normal but some services may still be cancelled, delayed or revised. Some stations between Worcester Shrub Hill and Didcot Parkway will not be served.
Customer Advice
Following a track defect at Evesham earlier, services on the North Cotswold Line have resumed but residual delays may continue.

GWR▸ turned back the 0552 from Paddington at Moreton, and sent it back down the line roughly in the place of the Halts train - a good bit of work. The Cotswold Line really has been torrid over the past few months though.

17:26 Worcester Foregate Street to London Paddington due 19:52 has been delayed at Worcester Shrub Hill and is now 16 minutes late. This is due to train crew being delayed by service disruption. Last Updated:08/03/2024 17:59 And in consequence, train 1W31, 15:52 Paddington - Great Malvern, booked to wait for 12 minutes at Evesham, actually spent 26 minutes there, and is currently 16 late.

05:23 Hereford to London Paddington due 08:24 was terminated at Evesham. It will no longer call at Honeybourne, Moreton-In-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury, Hanborough, Oxford, Reading and London Paddington. This is due to a fault on this train. As a result, the following services have been significantly delayed. The short-formed 06:43 Worcester Shrub Hill to London Paddington which will be picking up the displaced passengers is currently running 47 minutes late.

RTT» is reporting that 1P02, the 05:23 from Hereford to Paddington, gave up at Shrub Hill rather than Evesham. Probably more likely - it's easier to park a dead train at Shrub Hill.

Several cancellations this morning because of the emergency services dealing with an incident. I'm not sure whereabouts, but possibly at Shrub Hill

Several cancellations this morning because of the emergency services dealing with an incident. I'm not sure whereabouts, but possibly at Shrub Hill
The 1Z46 special from Kidderminster to Canterbury was 7 minutes late leaving Shrub Hill at 0609 but 138 minutes late leaving Norton Junc at 0825 https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:U91961/2024-03-13/detailedDon't know whether 1Z46 was the cause or was just badly impacted by the incident, but appeared to be okay when I saw at Didcot Parkway.
