On this day, 14th December 1896 - the Glasgow Underground opened.  Here are 4 other underground pictures - although in each case they have emerged from the depths - which are not in central London - where are they?   Where is ripe for a new underground network or extension?   

Lighter side so let's consider ...

* The Yeovil Tube - Yeovil Pen Mill, Town Centre, and Yeovil Junction.
* Reading
* And I know it's really far-fetched but how about Bristol?

4 is Verney Junction on the former Metropolitan Line and, now, East West Rail. (Though I suspect it doesn't look like that right now!)

Some even older pictures at https://www.flickr.com/photos/train-pix/7442140964/ ... and indeed I suspect it's cleaned up and station erased as part of West-East rail.

I hope not. Councillor Tony Page is supposed to be retiring next year, so might put paid to some of the hair brained schemes. Good job he is not at national level otherwise he would be a rival to Boris for assorted airport, bridge and tunnel schemes.
