SWR» General Manager of the West of England line
SWR have appointed Natalie (Nats) Edwards as SWR General Manager of the West of England line - she starts in January 2024. (we have met her already). It’s good news and we’re excited about this bold move. We’ll work very closely with her and the SWR team to ensure our “Vision” is understood and its main recommendations agreed.
This is how the SWR press release describes her position:
“Natalie Edwards has been appointed as General Manager for the West of England line.
This role has been created in recognition of some unique challenges on the route, specifically related to the geography and infrastructure impacting performance. Natalie will work closely with the existing West of England line team sharing their passion to deliver the best service for the customers. She will ensure South Western Railway and Network Rail work collaboratively with one another to drive performance improvements across the region, and deliver the service our customers deserve.
Natalie joins the team from her current job as Head of Projects, bringing with her a wealth of programme and stakeholder management experience which will stand her in excellent stead as she moves into her new position. She will start in her post on 2 January 2024, on a 12 month secondment. She will report to the SWR Service Delivery Director, Lyndsey Robson- Malone with a dotted line into Network Rail Operations Director, Matt Pocock.”
We must admit slight concern about the 12 month secondment, as SERUG wants
