Another mini-break for the pup and I. Had planned to return home today but the thought of four buses and a journey time of five hours just to travel around 40 miles put me off. My GWR (Great Western Railway) mystery shopping gigs over the last two days also had to be postponed thanks to ASLEF» (Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen - about)'s overtime ban. Luckily my accommodation had availability for a third night.

No guesses yet. It is a bit vague and random.

IKB (Isambard Kingdom Brunel) is in the bar area of a Somerset hotel. Take a guess on the town and/or hotel.

The ship looks not dissimilar to the Great Eastern, I presume that the railway picture is somewhere on the Great Western Railway and the statue is of Brunel (no prizes there) so a stab in the dark is that it's in a hotel named after him.

The hotel isn't named after IKB (Isambard Kingdom Brunel) or the original GWR (Great Western Railway).

Grand Atlantic Hotel, Weston super Mare. Brunel and his steamship relate to the transatlantic crossing.

Grand Atlantic, W-S-M.
I still don't get Finn's neckwear connection but I actually found it by asking Google "Hotel bar with Brunel statue".... didn't even mention Somerset and....hey presto!
I guess it must be reasonably well known.

And there was me googling "Somerset town flags" before hitting on the solution.

I believe Weston may have had a Pride event on Saturday.

It did indeed. We had a lovely time there. Afterward we went out to Sand Bay for fish & chips.

I did my good deed for the day too. The bus to Sand Bay was still on diversion around 2.30pm despite the change supposing to have ended at 1pm. Seafront road closure between 11am-1pm for the Pride parade. I later learnt that the diversions continued due to a police incident near Birnbeck Pier. After realising the bus wasn't going to show up at the Winter Gardens stop I called for a taxi. A young lady was also headed out to Sand Bay and was already late for work after bus no shows. I offered her to join Finn and I in the taxi without need to contribute to the fare.
