I luckily never use them!

The last (and only ones) I used where Lancaster to Leeds and Lancaster to Carlisle via Cumbrian Coast.

As I said before: "my back was never the same again!"

And as for my ears at Carnforth!

Yea they really are one of the worse units to grace the railways in years. So what have they done to refresh them up? Have they repainted them?

When introduced The Pacer provided a low cost replacement train for branch line use, and over the years has probably contributed in its own way to keeping some lightly used branch lines open.
The worst unit to grace the railway in recent years is the Voyager, its done nothing to improve long distance high speed travel and is now  as we all know being replaced  on some diagrams on Cross Country with HSTs (High Speed Train) which is the train the voyager was supposed to be an improvement on

How can you say that the voyagers are worse unit they are more comfortable, they are a smoother ride, they are 50 times more safe in an accident which will get you there in one piece. The units the pacers replaced were better than a bus.

Anyone notice how 142s seem to be the only trains where windows get steamed up when it rains? Today I passed one- it had windows open but every window was completely fogged!

The problem might be that you wrote 'grace' when - I think - you meant 'be introduced on'...
