I think it would be good if Pewsey had an hourly service - a mixture of semi-fast and intercity services. What do you think?

Good idea - but I don't think the demand is really there at Pewsey to warrant such a service. You might as well just install a reversing siding at Pewsey to be honest and extend the Bedwyn stoppers there - or perhaps to Westbury.

Extend London-Bedwyn services to Westbury and use a 180. That would be good.

To be honest, most West of England services should run fast between Reading and Taunton, with perhaps the Plymouth terminators stopping at Pewsey, Westbury and Castle Cary. This is to keep journey times down.
Extend the "Network South East" services to Westbury, and/or add in more "local" services from Paddington to Taunton which could call at Newbury as well. 180s would be useful, although it seems either Hull Trains, Grand Central or NXEC▸ will get the remaining units.
Most Pewsey people are London commuters, but the NSE▸ extension would allow more local travel from the station.

We would like more services to & from Melksham. Nice if the train went London to Westbury (stopping a Pewsey) & then up to Chippenham, stopping at Trowbridge and Melksham. yes I know Melksham has a short platform.

You have more chance of Swindon blowing up.

Good idea, but I think 2 IC▸ services stopping at pewsey, westbury, castle cary should carry on to Penzance.

No - the journey time for the services beyond Plymouth needs to be kept down.
And these trains would be full enough before they reached these extra stops.

I agree with adelante. As long as most services are fast there is no harm in extending journey oppotunites.

You lose about 4-5 mins by calling at Pewsey, Castle Cary, etc.
