Loads of them now reinstated - hopefully before too many people noticed!  Next departure currently showing cancelled is now the 18:59 off of Redhill.

Yes I believe they've opened a few more check in counters at Reading Station!

I think it's at t'other end of journey where that particular flavour of unease and panic starts to set in!

Yes - the list now reads:
Quote
18:59 Redhill to Reading due 20:35
19:58 Redhill to Reading due 21:29
21:34 Reading to Gatwick Airport due 23:15
23:20 Gatwick Airport to Reading due 00:44
23:33 Reading to Gatwick Airport due 01:07

Now you might ask yourself how those two units fail to get to Redhill so as to not come back - the relevant outward services were in this morning's list as cancelled but now aren't.

I expect further changes to the list!

Perhaps they are practising for the day when the 769s take over the service.......

A day when I am glad I have retired from my commute.

I expect further changes to the list!

And it did later become a bit less impossible, at least:
Quote
17:20 Reading to Redhill due 18:55
18:59 Redhill to Reading due 20:35

But someone's having a bit of fun filling in the explanations (delay attribution codes). The last train back from Redhill shows as:
This service was cancelled due to late arrival of an inbound service (YI)

Which is odd, as that "inbound service", arriving at 18:55, was cancelled:
This service was cancelled due to a problem at the depot (MU (Multiple Unit)).

The earlier ones are all listed as:
This service was cancelled due to the planned train being replaced with a slower train (MS).

The DAPR puts that differently, without really explaining how it could make any sense here:
MS:  Planned underpowered or shortformed service and or vehicle, incl. exam set swaps (abbreviation: ALOC STOCK)
