The weekend after next, a busy Saturday.  I'm hoping to meet a fiend from FoSBR» (Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways - site) at Yatton, carry on to Bridgwater to attend the update from Go-op at Railfuture then back to Melksham to see some Carpenters (or people pretending to be them). So I thought I would check my train times on the GWR (Great Western Railway) web site.

Which really makes planning for such a joined up journey set over 10 days ahead.  Oh for a timetable that's in place for months ahead, or even engineering changes 12 weeks ahead. I'm writing on 24th Feb, and the advice above is "we don't know what will be running on 27th" ... looking forward to being back to much better notice, but that's assuming that we DO get back to better notice, rather than the indusrty deciding that 72 hours is sufficient - it might be for them, but not for many of their customers.

And of course, no timetable means no cheap Advance fares & no way of knowing whether they will be availablefor the journeyyou want to make - which could be the determinate factor in making said journey. I share your pain asI’mlooking at coming to Bridgwater too

Are there many fiends attending? Should others come equipped with a crucifix?  Smiley
