If I could be so bold as to add to my previous post. I have never seen a station with so many "stop" boards as St Erth. When I saw Photo No 9 I just had to dig out one I took some years ago. 12 coach trains ? - must be left over from days of steam.

4 goes very deep so it doesn't look like access to an underground railway. And there are no adverts or signs so again it doesn't look like the London underground. I'm going to guess that it might be a pedestrian tunnel under a river somewhere, and not necessarily even in Britain.
