D1015 'Western Champion' was due to take charge of 'The Champion Torbay Express' next Saturday, 25th September. Unfortunately, she failed her mainline loaded test run yesterday when she took charge of a regular cement train from Avonmouth to Gloucester. As a result, D1015 will be replaced by a pair of Class 50s.

Let's hope not.

It's mentioned briefly on the DTG website http://westernchampion.co.uk/

Unfortunately D1015 ‘Western Champion’ suffered a seized engine during a mainline test run between Kidderminster and Bristol on Friday 17th September.
Therefore regrettably D1015, will now not be available for the planned Champion Torbay Express railtour on Saturday 25th September.
We are all sorry for the disappointment, and many thanks for your continued support. Further imformation will be communicated, once the engineering team have been able to carry out their initial investigations.
