Flat pack footbridge from Network Rail

A ‘flat pack' footbridge is set to dramatically improve rail connections across Britain ... With the potential to give small stations a footbridge - and accessible journeys - for the first time



Can members suggest any stations where a footbridge like this would make a difference?

Not sure... let me just have a quick chat with my learned friend Western Pathfinder...

Whilst it's a very good idea and represents substantial savings in time,cost,and carbon !
I don't think operational space would permit the installation of this type of over bridge at this areas most loved least used Station ,probably due to the fact that someone decided to stuff two whacking great big Knitting masts in the middle of platform two.
thus rendering it unusable.

I was under the impression that if a new footbridge was built it had to be wheel chair accessible,or is this "new bridge" classed as "temporary"

Still would like to see wheel chair accessible for Parson Street.

The bridge mentioned above, would it seems have provision for a lift to be installed.

It will have lift shafts built in, whether the lifts are installed that will be driven by different decisions and considerations

Typically Network Rail look for 120 year life expectancy for such structures.

'Accessible for all' is a rail industry project and one the industry is constantly working on, this 'flat pack bridge' is good example of it
