Station Catering at Melksham. Delighted that Evie's Mac and Cheese is by the station every Wednesday, 12:00 to 19:00 16:00 to 20:00.  Lisa and I picked up a mac anc cheese, and a burger, from there this afternoon.  Wow ... I wish them well; the quality was absolutely superb!  https://www.facebook.com/eviesmac for the menu. http://melksh.am/trains for the train service. http://melksh.am/taxis for taxis that will take you there.   Sorry - the only bus of the week that goes to the station is on a Sunday!

First picture - at Melksham Station today.
Others are from their web site, but look very much like the food that Lisa and I had!

I'm really looking forward to the "Melksham Hub" opening soon too ... "soft" opening planned for next month.

Edited post above - planned hours are now 16:00 to 20:00 and that's "from now on".  As today is a Wednesday, it's in our evening meal plan.

Edited post above - planned hours are now 16:00 to 20:00 and that's "from now on".  As today is a Wednesday, it's in our evening meal plan.

A month on and the later evening session is doing well - it's grown in popularity on Wednesday evening and it's helping more people in Melksham learn where their station is - can't be bad as we want to get people back on the train and have used and useful facilities at and near the station. Hub Cafe opening soon too - banner up ready!

-

View from the road bridge ... the Cafe should do good business during the morning and early afternoon from the various businesses around - the cyan pins are all motoring businesses - things like tyre and exhaust centres where customers traditionally hang around while their vehicles are "done" magenta pin is another business that may bring custom, and the shed with the red pin is available for rental. White pin for station.

Looking good.  Surely the cafe banner shouldn’t be up saying ‘open’ when it isn’t though?  Wink

Agreed. Publicity say soft opening 29th March, official opening 1st May.  It could be that if you put your head round the door while one of the TransWilts employees is there (and one is based there) they'll already be ready, willing and able to serve you - sort of super-soft opening. Dunno ...
