Unashamed advert ... the MRUG» (Melksham Rail User Group - site) (Melksham Rail User Group) live trains and onward connection page is working and coping well even. in the current (28.12.20) chaos.    This example for TROWBRIDGE - http://www.mrug.org.uk/tro.html

At the top of forum pages, you will find links to the same displays for the following stations:
Bristol Temple Meads ? Bath Spa ? Chippenham ? Swindon ? Didcot Parkway ? Reading ? London Paddington ? Melksham ? Exeter St Davids ? Taunton ? Westbury ? Trowbridge ? Bristol Parkway ? Cardiff Central ? Oxford ? Cheltenham Spa ? Birmingham New Street

You will find a pulldown menu at the top of that page which lets you select your destination - I chose Bath Spa - and the display will be updated to show only trains that will be leaving Trowbridge and calling at Bath, no matter what their final destination is.   Even gives you the arrival time so you can see where a slow train might be overtaken by a faster one along the way.

Pages like this are only "as good as" the live feeds - and at times of amendment will be subject to last minute change.  However, we have taken care to make the information supplied as clear as we can ...

P.S. Here is the full list of origin stations we support at present - go to http://www.mrug.org.uk/bri.html and chose your new station from the pull down labelled "Not at Bristol Temple Meads? Select your station:"

Small point.  Is it worth suppressing the number of coaches and number of calling points for cancelled services?

Yes - sadly, plenty of cancellations today to test changes that I have just made ...

Prior to changes (control case):

After changes - thanks, looks much clearer now:

Testing changes ... means looking at lots of pages to see that each case works ...

Samples for
Exeter St David's - http://www.mrug.org.uk/exd.html
Birmingham New Street - http://www.mrug.org.uk/bhm.html
Crewe - http://www.mrug.org.uk/cre.html
Cardiff Central - http://www.mrug.org.uk/cdf.html

I am aware of the lack of train lengths at Cardiff and the late notification of platform numbers too at Crewe; these look like data feed issues that we need to live with. Good to see headline banner on Cardiff; one has appeared on Trowbridge too since my earlier post. Ironically, noting how few cancellations are cropping up outside our area - looks like we have it especially bad at present!.  Also interesting to observe just what a lot of TOCs (Train Operating Company) are running trains at places like Birmingham and Crewe!
