With a strong Euro, the British family holiday to Europe might just turn into a week or two in this fine country, plus how many French, German and Spainish citizens etc will make Britain their holiday destination taking advantage of the strong Euro.
More to the point how many EXTRA Bums on Seats will FGW▸ and XC▸ have to cope with, in what might turn into a VERY BUSY SUMMER.
The Added price of Petrol makes Holiday travel by Train a far better option than in past years, simple to hire a car for the day or two when days out are planned.
To give a taster a Local Hotel I have links with has bookings some 40% up on this time last year, part of this might be due to the Early Easter.
I sure hope FGW look at hiring a couple of Engine and Coach Holiday Specials for the 6 main holiday Saturdays.
THEY WON▸ 'T OF COURSE.

An advertised Service. Relief Trains are just that, trains that run a few minutes before the Advertised service to take the excess numbers and hopefully ensure that passengers DON'T end up Standing.

The 67's were due to be running again this year, whats the point of a relief train if you can get all of the passenegrs on the proper service! no company runs relief trains smokey, infact, FGW▸ are one of the few TOC▸ 's to run additional trains on bank holidays, on previous bank hols FGW ran two extra services from Penzance to Paddington, surely your comments should be aimed at all TOC's, Cross Country being one of the main culprits for overcrowding and cancellations in Cornwall these days!

FGW have gone some way to solving the overcrowding problem experienced on the Weymouth line on summer Saturday afternoons by moving the 15.10 ex Weymouth to 16.10 to hopefully bring some relief to the 17.30 service which is where the real overcrowding occurs after a long hot day on the beach.
