GWR (Great Western Railway) are about to embark on a trial on behalf of the rail industry who use Cubic ticket barriers which is seeking to solve the problems around barcode tickets at ticket barriers.

The trail will be at Reading which will test new software to solve problems encountered with break of journey, out of station interchanges, time validity (with 8 different settable time restrictions instead of 2), special day restrictions, routings and cross-London/London Terminals validity.
