New plans unveiled for Britain's busiest single-platform station which has 650,000 passengers a year

It is hoped to bring back a second platform into use to give train travellers more options

Busiest single platform station .... Windsor are Eton Central?  Nope ... according to TeesSide Live it's ...

I don't begrudge the people from "up north" their extra platform if they need it ... but it's a bit naughty to claim the "busiest" crown and quote passenger numbers when they're less than a third of "ours".  A quick look shows Windsor and Eton Central has more departures too;  if you use "total time passengers spend waiting at the station" or "total travel time on the train they arrive / leave on" you may come a bit closer.

Not being my neck of the woods, has any one a resonable rail map plan of of the station area?

Didn't see any mention about Teeside airport, can't understand why so few trains call at Teeside airport.
I know that plane travel comes in for a lot of stick in our eco World, but the option/s should there to get to the airport by train,
when its right next door.

I can understand.  Take a look at http://www.passenger.chat/22721 with pictures taken on my visit last summer, and comment.

Even before Covid, Teeside Airport had a distinctly low number of scheduled flights. Coupled with the access issues from the station shown elsewhere, it was never an attractive option for traveller use.
