It is rail related, honest m'lud, but where and what did I stumble on (eventually) yesterday when I had a day out on my bicycle?

This one might go quite quickly although it was something new to me.  Let's see.

Edit: Amended picture title as was a bit of give away.

If they did, they are being very quiet and not spoiling it for others .... we have a lovely lot of members here.

Not the dramway at Iron Acton.  That would have required me peddling a few more miles.

Dramway in the Coalpit Heath area?

EDIT: I'll be more precise and say Ram Hill Colliery, Coalpit Heath.

Bang on. How come I've only lived in Bristol for nearly 50 years and only.now have discovered this industrial history gem?  Further down the Dramway you can still see the carved out sleepers holding down the rails  Bitterwell lake nearby is so an unexpected bit of history and now an underused public amenity.

A few fishermen and a family having a picnic but aside from that nothing like the post lockdown deluge you see elsewhere.

I was at one time entitled to free fishing at Biterwell Lake being a Westerleigh Parish Resident but lost the privaledge at one of boundary reviews since I moved here.
