Glastonbury Festival organisers have given revellers another chance to register for tickets after the renowned music event failed to sell out (link below.)
http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=144125&command=displayContent&sourceNode=232450&contentPK=20350998&folderPk=108202&pNodeId=251466

Robert Richards, who assists Michael Eavis, said this year was the first time all tickets had not been snapped up "in hours" since a high-security fence was built on Worthy Farm in 2002.

Dismissing claims festival-goers had been unimpressed by headliners Jay-Z, the Verve and Kings of Leon, Mr Richards said slow sales could be attributed to fears of more wet weather.

Rumours that the US rap star had dropped out were also untrue, he said.

More than 250,000 revellers registered earlier this year. Ticket registration will open again at 4pm today, see http://www.glastonburyregistration.co.uk/ for more details.

FGW (First Great Western) is offering combined train and festival tickets (link below.)
http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/Content.aspx?id=1233

They will be running an enhanced service from London and the Westcountry to Castle Cary. Passengers from the north are advised to change at Taunton where a shuttle service will run to Castle Cary.

Hmmmm.

I have to say that I do sympathise, smithy: the end of the 'Glastonbury weekend' is when all the lovely marbled floors at Bristol Temple Meads disappear under a thick carpet of brown Somerset mud ...

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
