We look forward to welcoming GWR (Great Western Railway) Managers Jason Ness and Samyutha Bala at 17:00 today (18th June 2020) to answer questions on Customer Experience and Customer Relations.

Visit http://gwr.passenger.chat/b48 at around 5 p.m. (that's the top page for this board) for introductions ... read those and visit again, and you'll find that our RedSquirrel (that's Tim) has "seeded" the first question for each of our guests ... read those, refresh again, and the answers will have started to be published ...

Ten questions were submitted to GWR a few days ago, and Sam and Jason will be online to follow up as Tim posts the questions - they know what is coming, so they can have thought through answers.  Once the answers and 'in', members cn follow up on each of the threads with related questions which will be addressed if and as appropriate during the hour.

Caroline from GWR and our BobM will be online during the hour too acting as co-ordinators / admins / moderatos and I (grahame) will have a can of server-oil in hand in case a mechanic's attention is needed at any point.

This is the first "distributed" meet the manager we have run - previous events have been run from a conference room in Swindon.   So we have a few new elements, and ask members to bear with us if there's the odd running glitch. We have filled the coffee urns, done our risk assessments, polished our toolkits - but things can always hit from left field.  We are sticking with tried technology rather than switching to Zoom, or Teams, as our tried technology is known to all our members, and we know that the full answers will be available to them all, including those who cannot make it this afternoon, and those who don't have downloads, cameras, microphones set up, etc.

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. Views expressed in posts are not necessarily the views of the operators of the forum.

As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
