Currently OAP passes can be used 24/7, so yes.

I'll be waiting to see the official announcement, considering a week and a half ago I paid £100 for the 20 x 1day tickets which I have to use by mid September...

martynjohn,
when we were in Newquay in summer 2018 senior bus pass holders were not allowed free travel till after 09:00am monday friday.
Although you could purchase a £2.00p Rover ticket from first thing in the morning and valid all day.
Has the free travel for bus pass holders been amended?

This is a proposal that has been put to all operators. They have until tomorrow to accept or decline being part of the scheme.
Reality is if one accepts they all will need to, or the one charging won’t carry passengers over a common route

There isn’t going to be an announcement. It says in the articles that the operators aren’t allowed to do any publicity and it isn’t to be promoted.

Thanks for that info,
in a big City like Bristol,I don't have a problem with their being a timed restriction on using the free bus pass's
I wouldn't be happy though if I was refused access to a bus, because it was full in the morning rush hour on my way to work.
Where as a location like Newquay area, where there is no train out of Newquay till 10:23.
I am happy for the bus pass's to be valid 24/7

https://busandtrainuser.com/2020/05/25/cornwalls-free-bus-travel-is-completely-bonkers/First thought ... is it 1st April? Second thought ... is this fake news / opinion piece with no link back to original proposal Third thought ... "who is Bus and Train User?" / any other sources? This is a proposal that has been put to all operators. They have until tomorrow to accept or decline being part of the scheme.

Fourth thought ... my goodness, it has the seeds of being real

First are keeping the lifted restriction until Mon 15th June when the pre 9am restriction in the old Avon area is reimposed. I would hope that would means a more normal service, with buses doubling up when they reach their social distancing capacity.

Monday to Friday services virtually back to normal from Monday on Bristol area services
